Vols Whip Bulldogs 45-19

What a wonderful day it has been, for a couple of reasons.  Seeing the Vols fire on all cylinders in one of them.  Told you they were going to take somebody out.  Now this is what I want to see.  Here’s the breakdown:

The Good:

  • Jonathan freakin’ Crompton!!!  Who the heck is this guy and why hasn’t he been starting all year?!!!  20 out of 27 for 310 yards and 4 touchdowns, with only 1 interception.  Are you kidding me?  I think this once again shows that if the Vols can get production out of the QB position, they can be a very dangerous team!
  • Wide receivers/tight ends.  Unlike last week, this group made plays today!  Gerald Jones and Denarius Moore were particularly standouts!
  • The defense had another strong effort, basically shutting down the Georgia running game, and doing a pretty good job of keeping the ball out of A.J. Green’s hands.

The Bad:

  • Special teams was pretty poor.  This accounted for 9 of Georgia’s 19 points (100 yard kickoff return and a blocked punt for a safety).  Every time the Vols kickoff, it is nerve wracking with the Vols poor coverage.

The Ugly:

  • Nope, there can be nothing truly ugly about a 45-19 blowout against the Georgia Bulldogs.  It was a beautiful thing to watch!

The Vols have the week off next week and then will face the currently ranked #3 Alabama Crimson Tide.  I am hoping to win tickets to that one so I can attend in person.  I knew the Vols would get somebody, and they did this week.  But what the heck, why not beat Alabama too?  (Living in Alabama, I really want that one, very badly!)
